Every day, 7 young people aged 13-24 hear the words "you have cancer". Relationships, exams, careers, life plans – cancer can throw everything into chaos leaving young people feeling isolated, scared and out of control. And for those who do recover, that huge disruption at such a crucial time can have a lasting and devastating impact on their future. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity in the UK that’s dedicated to meeting the unique and complex needs of teenagers and young adults with cancer. Teenage Cancer Trust provides specialist cancer services for teenagers and young adults across the UK. In our local community, there are two specialist facilities at Bristol Children’s Hospital and Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and an extensive outreach programme across the South West.
Their specialist nurses and support team in the South West are committed to supporting young people with cancer from Bristol and the surrounding areas to ensure access to specialist age-appropriate care, whether that be psychological, emotional, financial, practical, educational or social support. There are lots of activities at the Teenage Cancer Trust tent, including a tombola, raffle and children’s activities. Pop along and say hello!
