Information for Residents
Traffic around Ashton Court Estate is expected to be heavier than usual during the Balloon Fiesta weekend, particularly on Saturday 12th August 2017. We suggest that travel is kept to a minimum and only essential journeys are undertaken during afternoons and evenings (particularly on the Nightglow evenings, Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th August 2017).
A number of road closures will be put in place around Ashton Court every evening during the Balloon Fiesta to limit vehicular access in the surrounding residential areas. Closures and diversions are clearly detailed on this map and will be in place to ensure emergency service vehicles can still access all areas, and to ensure minimum disruption is caused to residents by visitors to the Fiesta. The Clifton Suspension Bridge will also be closed to vehicles from 1800hrs to 0000hrs on Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th August 2017.
The road closures around the site will be implemented in three phases as below to help ensure minimal disruption to local residents.
1. 1900hrs until 0000hrs Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th August 2017
Rownham Hill, Clanage Road – Clevedon Road, Longwood Lane
2. 1900hrs until 0000hrs Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th August 2017 (actually placed from 2100hrs until 2330hrs – 0000hrs)
Rownham Hill, Clanage Road – Clevedon Road, Longwood Lane plus B3128 Slip
3. 1900hrs until 0000hrs Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th August 2017 (actually placed from 2130hrs until 2330hrs – 0000hrs)
Rownham Hill, Clanage Road – Clevedon Road, Longwood Lane plus B3128
Residents and business owners will have access to their road during the event using their residents pass. These can be hung on your rear view mirror to allow you access to the routes marked on the residents access map: BIBF 2017 RESIDENTS ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION MAP 2017. Residents can use these passes as they wish, they are not specific to any vehicle.
