Q1. Do I need to apply for media accreditation?
 
A1. If you are a member of the press and would like to attend the Fiesta to report on the event you need to apply for media accreditation which will gain you access to the launch field.
 
Q2. What do I get if I am accredited?
 
A2. You will be supplied with a wristband that will give you access to the Media Centre and main arena. You may also be allocated a car parking pass depending on your requirements.
 
Q3. How do I apply for media accreditation?
 
A3. You can apply by filling our online form on www.bristolballoonfiesta.co.uk or download the pdf document and post/e-mail your form to balloonfiesta@spiritpublicrelations.co.uk
 
Q4. Who get’s accredited?
 
A4. We aim to accredit all reporting press; however we have to limit the number of passes into the main arena due to health & safety.
 
Please note: you will only be allocated one press pass per media accreditation form unless you clearly specify that you require additional passes on the form.
 
Q5. When will I find out if my request has been approved?
 
A5. We will review all requests in July 2013. In late July we will post all wristbands and car parking passes.
 
Q6. When is press day?
 
A6. Media are invited to attend the Fiesta for the entire event but we do have a specific press morning on Friday 9 August for the first mass ascent of the Fiesta, when over 100 balloons take to the skies.
 
Q7. Can I fly in a mass ascent?
 
A7. We do have a limited number of press spaces in hot air balloons available for the Friday morning mass ascent; these can be requested on the media accreditation form.
 
If you require press flights at other times over the weekend we will try our best to accommodate these requests during the event.
 
Q8. When do I find out if I’ve been allocated a press flight?
 
A8. Broadcast press will be allocated flights in advance of the Fiesta due to particular health & safety requirements.
 
Print & freelance press will be advised ahead of the event whether they’re likely to receive a press flight and allocations will be confirmed on arrival at Ashton Court on Friday 9 August.
 
Q9. Can I report live from the Fiesta?
 
A9. Yes, we allocate an area at the top of the launch field for satellite trucks and will accommodate your specific needs where possible, please call the Fiesta Press Team on 0117 944 1415 to discuss your requirements.
 
Q10. Will there be a curtain raiser/press launch this year?
 
A10.Details of this event have not yet been confirmed. We will distribute a press call which will also be uploaded onto the press release section of this website when details are available.
