Visiting the Fiesta

Welcome to the 35th annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a world famous spectacle, originally designed as a meeting of balloonists and now one of the UK’s most iconic events.

It is a perfect family day out with attractions on the site including model aircraft flying displays, inflation races, balloon tethering, appearances from the  EXIT Parachute Display Team, a Spitfire Memorial Flight, an exhilarating display by the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team and the world’s premier aerobatic team, the Royal Air Force Red Arrows.

6am ascents

Visit the Fiesta each morning at 6am for ‘Breakfast and Balloons’, watching the hot air balloons take to the sky as the sun rises with a morning coffee and bacon sandwich. Take in the serenity of an early morning surrounded by parkland as the balloons ascend into the bright blue sky.

Daytime entertainment and 6pm ascents

Make a day of it at the Fiesta and arrive for lunch or afternoon tea, in time to see flypasts and get a good spot for the evening ascent at 6pm as the balloons lift off over the City of Bristol. Enjoy a full programme of arena displays, flypasts, a fairground, festival markets and lunch or dinner from one of a delicious selection of food vendors.

Nightglow and Fireworks Finale

The famous Nightglow is a stunning sight with over 30 ballooning teams lighting up their balloons as night falls at 9.00pm on Thursday 8th and Saturday 10th August, followed by a spectacular fireworks finale.
